The Pouladi lab hosts the inaugural UniStem Day Singapore

On March 15, the Pouladi lab (TLGM) organised the inaugural UniStem Day Singapore, hosting secondary school students for a day of outreach. Students were introduced to a range of neuroscience methods. Drs. Mahmoud Pouladi (TLGM) and Judy Sng (NUS) coordinated the day.

UniStem Day is an event aimed at promoting a scientific culture among young generation starting from the wonders and issues surrounding stem cell research. On UniStem Day, in one single day, 35,000 students are gathered in different universities with the opportunity to listen and learn from the best experts on stem cells in the World. Among the participating countries this year are Austria, Australia, Colombia, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden. The event, launched in 2009 at Milan University, promotes a unified vision of science and the importance of study and culture for all citizens.

Mahmoud will present at the Stem Cells & Organoid Models of Human Diseases mini-symposium organised by the Life Sciences Institute's Neurobiology/Ageing Programme (NUS).

His talk will be on using hPSC-based cerebral organoids to gain insights into neurological disorders.

Kagistia chosen to present at the Indonesian Society of Human Genetics

Kagistia has been selected for an oral presentation at the Indonesian Society of Human Genetics (InaSHG) in October 2017. 

She will present on developing a human pluripotent stem cell model of Fragile X Syndrome.

Xiaohong to present at the CSH Mitochondria conference in October

Xiaohong's submission has been selected for an oral presentation at the Cold Spring Harbor meeting on Mitochondria in Suzhou  (https://www.csh-asia.org/2017meetings/MITOCH.html).

She will present on using genome editing to investigate the role of post-translational modifications in Huntington disease iPSC-derived human neural cells.
